Those two functions now have separate permissions that can be assigned to user roles independently (Default migrated to be the same for both). Each permission supports four settings:

• Not Allowed: The feature is not available to the user.

   

• Allowed: The feature is available and can be used without additional verification.

   

• Single PIN: The feature requires the user to verify the action using their PIN code.

Stocktaking Approval from the POS app

 

Background

Previously, stocktaking approvals could only be completed in Sitoo Backoffice and required Store Manager privileges. This created a dependency on Store Manager availability, making it difficult to finalize stocktakings in a timely manner.

 

For customers using daily cycle counting initiated from POS, this often meant that stocktakings could not be closed at the end of the day, leading to delays in inventory updates and impacting stock accuracy and replenishment.

 

Update

A new “Approve Stocktaking” view is now available in Sitoo POS, allowing stocktaking sessions to be finalized directly in the store. The interface is simplified compared to Backoffice interface but delivers the same result, making the approval process faster and easier. It is designed to support the standard workflow (“happy path”) with a streamlined, intuitive experience. For more advanced analysis, the Backoffice view is still available.

 

Configurable permissions also allow both Store Staff and Store Managers to approve stocktakings, depending on the organization’s setup

The POS previously lacked configurable default communication preferences, making it difficult for retailers to balance regional compliance standards, such as the EU's "Opt-in" and the US's "Opt-out" models. This created manual friction during member enrollment and increased the risk of non-compliance with local data privacy regulations.
 

Update

Retailers can now define default values for Email, Text Messages, and Physical Mail toggles within the CRM configuration in the Backoffice. These settings automatically apply during the member creation flow in the POS, streamlining onboarding while ensuring regional compliance. If no configuration is provided, the system defaults to "False" to maintain existing behavior.

Capture boarding pass information
 

Background

Retailers operating at airports do many times need to collect relevant traveler information for each sale and return. This may be due to statistical reasons, as the airport operator requires this data.

To collect the data, customers' boarding pass information must be captured before a sale or return can be completed. This can be done, for example, by scanning or manually entering boarding pass information. Information from the boarding pass is then captured and added to the transaction.

A barcode prefix determines the discount type (% off, amount off, or a new fixed price). Initiate a stocktaking from the POS app   Background Previously, it was only possible to initiate a new stocktaking from the Sitoo Back Office or via the Sitoo API. This meant that users needed access to the Sitoo Back Office and were assigned to a Store Manager role to start a stocktaking session.   While users could begin counting products in the POS app, they were not informed whether an active stocktaking session was in progress. This often resulted in the user completing the count only to discover, when submitting the data to the Back Office, that no active stocktaking session was available, triggering an error message.   Update Users can now start a new stocktaking session directly from the POS app, provided they have the required permission. This permission can be assigned to both Store Manager and Store Staff roles.   When enabled, a new stocktaking can be initiated from the POS app as long as no active session is already in progress. The feature is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled.

Adyen Tap to Pay Android   Background Adyen Tap to Pay transforms NFC-enabled Android devices into secure, mobile payment terminals. This eliminates the need for peripheral hardware, allowing store associates to process transactions anywhere on the sales floor. By leveraging existing devices, retailers can streamline their payment process, improve mobility, and create a more engaging in-store experience.   Update Sitoo now supports Adyen Tap to Pay Android as an integrated payment method within the POS. This update enables retailers to process secure, contactless payments—including digital wallets and physical cards—directly on compatible Android devices for both sales and returns. This integration streamlines the payment workflow and provides a scalable, hardware-light solution for agile in-store operations.

Bug fixes and improvements   Fix: Payment retry journal entry    Background A payment retry entry was previously not logged in the journal.   Fix Payment retry journal entries are now correctly logged when store staff manually retry a failed payment.

Fix: Crash on cart state after auto-logout   Background After an auto-logout, reopening the App and restoring a cart in an inconsistent persisted state could cause a crash, leaving the cashier unable to proceed.   Fix The cart data access logic now uses a database transaction to safely handle the case where a cart record is missing, creating a new empty cart atomically. This eliminates the crash and allows the session to resume cleanly.

Fix: Campaign vouchers shown for excluded products   Background Products configured to be excluded from specific campaigns were still showing campaign voucher information in the product detail view, misleading cashiers about applicable promotions.   Fix The voucher lookup now correctly filters out vouchers for which the product is not in the voucher's applicable product list. Only vouchers that explicitly cover the product are shown.

Fix: Stocktaking sessions lost on fetch failure   Background If fetching active stocktaking sessions for a warehouse failed (for example, due to a network error), all previously loaded sessions for that warehouse were discarded, and the list appeared empty.   Fix When a session fetch fails, the previously loaded active sessions for the affected warehouse are preserved and remain visible in the session list.

Android 1.5.0 Features Integration with Kustom   Background Modern retailers require flexible payment solutions that go beyond standard card processing. Previously, Sitoo POS lacked a native integration with Kustom. Additionally, retailers needed a way to distinguish between different customer types (e.g., B2C or B2B) at the point of sale to ensure the correct payment methods were always presented to the user.   Update We have introduced a native integration with Kustom, a leading payment provider. The integration supports a wide range of payment methods, including major credit cards, mobile wallets, and Kustom’s specialized B2B payment suite (such as direct invoicing and account payments).   Uniquely, the system now supports multiple payment configurations simultaneously. This allows merchants to set up distinct Kustom B2C and Kustom B2B payment options in the POS via settings, each with specific payment alternatives to suit different customer profiles, all within a single streamlined workflow.

Custom 1–5 payment improvements   Background Retailers often accept specialized payment methods, such as physical vouchers, third-party gift certificates, or local mall cards that cannot be technically integrated into the POS. Previously, while these could be recorded, there was no way to mandate the capture of a reference number or ID, often leading to missing information and difficult financial reconciliation.   Update We have enhanced the Custom 1–5 payment options to allow for more structured and efficient data entry. Merchants can now configure a Reference Field for each custom payment method, with the flexibility to set this field as either optional or required.   To further speed up the checkout process, this reference field supports barcode scanning. Instead of typing in long IDs or voucher codes, staff can simply scan the barcode to populate the field. The system includes validation to ensure required fields are not skipped and that character limits are respected, ensuring every manual payment is backed by a valid, traceable reference.

Digital Receipts (Digital Receipts SPI)   Background Many retailers want to offer customers the option to receive receipts digitally. Sitoo already supports emailing receipts directly, in an email format managed by Sitoo.   Retailers need greater flexibility in their choice of partners and providers, as well as in the format and distribution channel used.   Update Sitoo introduces a new Digital Receipt SPI that gives retailers the freedom to choose their preferred partner for digital receipt distribution. By implementing the SPI, retailers gain full control over how receipts are delivered to customers. The Digital Receipt SPI works in cooperation with the CRM (v2) SPI.

Discount Cards SPI    Background Managing entitlements such as staff, VIP, or ambassador discounts can be difficult to track and control. Traditional discounts are hard to cap by total value and can be risky when combined with other promotions, leading to "double-dipping" and reconciliation headaches.   Update We have introduced a new Service Provider Interface (SPI) for Discount Cards. These are centrally managed entitlements that allow retailers to offer percentage-based discounts with precise spending limits. Key features include: Automated Management: Discounts are recalculated instantly as the cart changes, and the card balance is automatically updated for both sales and returns.   Intelligent Top-up: Automatically "tops up" existing promotions to reach the card's percentage, preventing excessive discounting.   Flexible Rules: Ability to set alternate discount rates based on product attributes.   Controlled Limits: Supports Hard (strict), Soft (warning), or Unlimited balance types.

Adyen unreferenced refunds setting    Background Previously, returns with Adyen were by default processed as "referenced refunds", which links the return to the original transaction and card. However, some retailers prefer, or are required by their business structure, to process returns independently of the original sale.    Update We have introduced a new configuration for the Adyen integration that allows merchants to disable referenced refunds. When this setting is active, all returns are processed as unreferenced refunds. This ensures the consumer is always prompted to present a card to the terminal.

Shipment search capability   Background A common scenario for retailers is receiving many shipments. The list of shipments can be long and time-consuming to find the correct shipment in certain scenarios. For example, some shipments are physically missing key identifiers, making it hard to identify/find a specific shipment. By being able to have more search keys, for example, search for a product or package barcode and present all shipments in which that product or package is included, staff can more easily identify the shipment, the package, or the product that it belongs to.   Update Enhanced search functionality to the Shipment List screen, allowing users to search and find shipments more efficiently.

Improvement: Hardware scanner initialization     Background Hardware scanners were previously initialized one by one. If a single device was slow to respond, it could delay the startup process for other hardware in the POS.   Improvement Scanners are now initialized in parallel. This prevents a slow device from blocking others, resulting in a faster and more responsive experience.

Sweden - Infrasec update Background Infrasec has launched a new certified TCS (Tax Compliance System) that ensures full compliance with the latest Skatteverket fiscal regulations (SKVFS 2016:1) and the journal exporting requirements introduced in 2023.   Sitoo has updated the POS fiscal integration to support this new TCS solution, maintaining compliance and seamless operation across all supported devices.   Improvements Incorporates Infrasec’s newly certified TCS solution, approved for current fiscal standards Enhanced stability and performance for fiscal event handling. Update A new warning appears whenever a transaction is completed without a connection to the fiscal control unit. Additionally, we’ve introduced limits on the duration for which the POS can continue processing transactions while offline. These updates ensure you stay compliant, catch configuration issues early, and avoid unexpected disruptions.

Feature for Retain 24 Credit Note Print a new slip if there's a remaining balance

Background When the balance of the credit note is higher than the order amount (the amount to be paid) the remaining balance of the credit note is not printed on either the receipt or a new gift card slip. For clarity, this forces store staff to perform manual processes that are prone to errors.

Update If there is a remaining balance on the credit note, Sitoo Platform will instruct the POS to print out a new slip that states the remaining balance.   The slip that is printed will have the same credit note ID and barcode; it will be a new printout for the same credit note, not a newly created credit note. So staff should either give back both slips to the customer or alternatively "destroy" the old slip.   ⚠️ Important Since both slips will work as payment and, in fact, be the same credit note with the same balance. When destroying the old slip, do not throw the old credit note in the bin; instead, destroy the slip or ensure that the credit note number is unreadable on the old slip.

Feature for Z-report Add Register open date and time in Z-report

Background Date and time when the register was opened is currently not printed, only the date and time when Z-report was created i.e. when register was closed.

Update Z-report printout from Sitoo POS and also z-report presentation in Back office have been updated to present both the date and time when cash register (POS) was opened as well as the date and time when it was closed (close register)

Feature for Shipments Filter/sort by estimated delivery date

Background Many retailers receive a large amount of inbound shipments, and additional filters are necessary to plan work more easily and efficiently, as well as locate relevant shipments.

Update To the already existing filtering options, the following options have been added:   Sorting Default sorting, i.e., based on creation date Based on arrival date - descending Based on arrival date - ascending Filter Based on date: To - From Delayed shipment, i.e., estimated delivery date has passed. If no estimated date is set, then it will never be delayed

Feature for Shipments Set Accept All as possible/not possible

Background Retailers have very different processes for receiving items. It is not always necessary, feasible, or desirable for other reasons to manually receive items in a shipment. In that case, it would be beneficial to receive the full shipment efficiently and quickly.

Update It will be possible to specify on each shipment how it should be received. default - Default method and current behaviour. User will have a choice to either count items or choose to accept all items via menu choice. manual-count - Manual counting of items, where the user counts the items and enters the quantity. It will not be possible to accept all items via menu choice, i.e., a manual count will be required. auto-accept - Automatic acceptance of items, where the system automatically accepts the items based on the declared quantities. No manual counting will be needed.

Feature for receipt Adjustments for manual discount presentation

Background Currently, regarding manual discounts, neither the % nor the discounted amount is displayed on the printed receipt. This information is needed, for example, when conducting an exchange or in other processes where staff or retailers need to see the amount that was discounted, such as for follow-up or fraud prevention.

Update: Manual discount values - Not compressed Both the % value and the actual discounted amount (for the row, not per unit) will be presented on the receipt. The reason code for why the customer received a manual discount will also be presented.   Previously, the discounted price was presented in the right column when using manual discount in a non-compressed layout. To present the discount value consistently, similar to campaigns, the Sitoo receipt will now display the "starting price," i.e., the price before any manual discount was applied.

Update:  Manual discount values - Compressed Both the % value and the actual discounted amount (for the row, not per unit) will be presented on the receipt. The reason code for why the customer received a manual discount will also be presented.   The price to pay is presented in the right column when using compressed layout. To present the discount value consistently, similar to campaigns, manual discounts will also be "left indented," i.e., not placed under the "price to pay" to the right.

Background   We identified an issue in the Android client related to rollbacks of gift cards and credit notes (as gift cards). When a gift card number was masked, the rollback process could not be completed.

Fix   The Android client can now correctly handle rollbacks of gift card and credit note transactions even when the card number is masked.

Issue (Android only)   Store stock deducted despite “delivery-ignore-stock”

Background   Online orders delivered from stores were incorrectly deducting stock, even when marked with “delivery-ignore-stock: true.”

Fix   Orders with “delivery-ignore-stock: true” no longer affect store stock levels.

Issue (Android only)   Not able to use an iOS and Android POS with the same Epson printer

Background   We identified an issue when using both an Android device and an iPad connected to the same Epson printer. Printing receipts from the Android device caused the iOS device to lose connection, requiring a printer restart.

Fix   Both Android and iOS devices can print receipts from the same Epson printer without interruptions.

Issue (Android only)   Fiscal printers sometimes record unvalidated purchases

Background   An issue was identified with fiscal printers registering purchases that were not actually completed in Sitoo.

Fix   Fiscal printers will no longer register purchases that are blocked or denied in Sitoo, ensuring financial reports remain accurate.

This helps staff explain the policy to customers and allows staff to override it for goodwill if needed.

Feature (iOS and Android)   Inform the POS user that the POS is Offline.

Background   Currently, POS users are not informed when the system is offline, sometimes causing confusion regarding unavailable services/functions.

Background   Previously, store staff could enter unique identifiers for certain products, but this feature did not support omnichannel journeys. This caused issues when customers bought products online and picked them up in a store, as there was no way to assign necessary identifiers during order preparation.

Update   The feature allowing store staff to enter unique identifiers for certain products has been enhanced to support omnichannel journeys. For example, when a customer buys a phone online and chooses in-store pickup, store staff can now assign unique identifiers, such as the IMEI number, to the product when preparing the order.

Feature (iOS only*)   Allow customer changes for gift receipt returns and exchanges.

Background   When a customer uses their CRM membership during a purchase, it may trigger discounts like a member-specific discount, which normally applies to exchanges.   However, if the purchase is a gift, the CRM membership should not apply to returns or exchanges by the recipient. For example, if a gold level customer buys a gift with a discount and the recipient exchanges it, the recipient should not receive the gold level discount on the new item. Additionally, the gold level customer should not lose points for the return.

Update   When a return is initiated by scanning a gift receipt, the customer information is automatically removed. Additionally, you can remove the customer information when starting a return from the order search view by toggling the "Return from gift receipt" option. During the rollout of the new version, gift receipts issued on updated POS (v1.86), will not be possible to scan on previous versions (POS 1.85 and earlier). When all POS devices have been updated to v1.86 or later, then you can scan all gift receipts on all your POS.

Feature (iOS only*)   Enable exclusion of product groups from campaigns.

Background   Discounting items such as donations or charity contributions can cause financial discrepancies and undermine their purpose. Similarly, applying discounts to items like paper bags can harm our environmental stance and brand image. To address this, retailers need the ability to exclude certain product groups from all promotions and campaigns.

Update   To effectively manage this, retailers can now exclude specific product groups from all promotions and campaigns.

Background   We are consistently working to maintain and improve our solution. It is time to update the journal backup service to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Background   Customers using NETS should, according to NETS recommendations and procedures, either set up central end-of-day or alternative automatic end-of-day procedures. POS should no longer be responsible for performing end-of-day in NETS terminals.

Background

When applying promotions and bonus checks for a member in the POS (Point of Sale), there was a confirm dialog for each one applied.

We have had a lot of feedback on this functionality indicating that the confirmation step was only time consuming and not really helping the staff.

Update

From this release, the functionality for applying a promotion or a bonus check does no longer involve a confirmation dialog.

If the staff needs to change which promotions or bonus checks that have been applied, this can still be done by swiping left on a discount summary row at the bottom of the cart.

Background

• Not all store staff should have access to the key to the cash drawer. When opening the POS for the day and registering the amount of cash that is going to be in the cash drawer (opening float), a function for opening the cash drawer is needed in the POS.
• Some regions in Spain require the possibility to use the POS in Catalan.

Update

• With a menu option, it is now possible to open the cash drawer before registering the opening float and opening the POS for the day.

• The VAT summary section on the receipt now also renders the base amount.
• Fixed issue where stock levels were not shown correctly when searching for products.

Background

• The amount that the collected VAT is based on, should be shown on the receipt for each VAT group.
• When looking at products in a search result list, it can be very helpful to see the current stock level in the store.
• When using a handheld device (e.g. Zebra TC21) for registering inventory changes using the barcode scanner, it is important that the application is rapid in its response.

New Reason Code Functionality 

• Reason codes for cash in/out
  You can now add a reason code to the cash in/out operation in the POS, thus requiring your staff to choose a reason for the deposit/withdrawal. 

• New type of reason codes for return and reclaim. Reclaim codes can trigger a return to a specific stock. 
  The new reason codes for returns can trigger a return of a product to a specific warehouse. Set up a Reclaim warehouse in Sitoo Backoffice → Warehouses. Once you perform a reclaim with a reason code in Sitoo POS, the item is automatically transferred to the reclaim warehouse. This can be applied per product in the cart. 

• Add reason code for setting manual discount
  You can now require your staff to choose a reason code whenever they apply a manual discount on an item in the POS. This can be applied per product in the cart.

  You can now require your staff to choose a reason code whenever they apply a manual price on an item in the POS. This can be applied per product in the cart. 

Allow refunds with multiple payment methods

• Just as you can use multiple payment methods to take payment, you can now use multiple methods to handle returns. Simply tap the pie-icon in the top right corner at the payment screen, choose the first payment method and enter the sum to be returned for this method. Then choose your secondary payment method for the remaining sum.

Scan discount codes without the need to enter them manually

• You can create a code for your receipts and scan them instead of tapping the discount button and entering the campaign code.

Support for receipt printer from Epson

• Sitoo POS is now compatible with the TM-T88VI printer from Epson. 

Print labels directly from the POS using Zebra Label Printer

• It is now possible to print labels directly from the Sitoo POS app on your iPad using Zebra Label Printer.
