You can import information to your Backoffice by using a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel. This way you can easily add new information as well as editing existing information. Once you have learned how to use the import function you can save time by importing new information.
At the bottom of this page you'll find different import files for different purposes attached.
Line and column
All forms of import are based on an import template built in excel. The import template has mandatory column names, and each row corresponds to a unit of data such as a product or a manufacturer. Below is an example of an import file for product import; each line describes a product.
- Manufacturer / brand
- Product information
- Price information
- Delivery in
- Delivery out
- Link between product and image file
- Related Products
Definition of terms
Each import template contains different column names that differ from import to import, based on the data you want to import. The links above present guides for each import and the column names that appear in each specific import.
Columns that end with ID - what does it mean?
Some fields require an ID number to identify a setting. For example defaultcategoryid (main/menu category). If you wish to connect a product to a category you can't simply type the cateogory name in the cell, you will need to enter the ID for the category. This ID is located in your Backoffice.
The ID numbers is located in the same way, regardless of setting. Click the editing icon on an item in Backoffice, then look in the adress bar of your browser. The URL will end with ?item= and the number after = is your ID number. You can also find the ID by hovering your mouse pointer over the editing icon and then look in the footer of your browser to see the adress. Locate the ID in the way described above.
