General
- Robust and stable WLAN/LAN for smooth store operations.
- Robust and stable WAN for connectivity to the Sitoo backend services. Needed for full omni-flow experience.
- Fixed and/or wireless network for devices that run Sitoo POS and peripherals. Sitoo recommends fixed where possible.
- Devices that run Sitoo POS and peripherals must be able to connect with each other on the same LAN.
- Sitoo recommends a redundant WAN connectivity solution - minimum of 2 Mbps.
- Generally, a robust, low latency, and stable network is more important than bandwidth.
- Use DHCP reservation (or static IP) where applicable.
- Disable Wi-Fi sleep policies where possible.
- Power outlets for tablet and peripherals.
Wi-Fi coverage
- Plan and perform a complete network coverage test for stores where Sitoo POS will be used.
- Full bars of Wi-Fi signal will be displayed on the device at all locations where a POS device will be used.
- The least congested Wi-Fi channel should be used for Sitoo POS.
Separation & Prioritization
- For security and bandwidth reasons, Sitoo recommends that it be a separate, discreet part of the network solely for use by Sitoo POS.
- Streaming (music or video) software should not be installed and operated on a device that runs Sitoo POS.
- Streaming and signage-related traffic (e.g. Spotify, Sonos, etc.) should be separated from the LAN that Sitoo POS and peripherals use.

Updates - Sitoo POS Client
If you are using an MDM, we recommend controlling updates of Sitoo POS from there rather than through the automation from AppStore/GooglePlay. If possible, distribute new releases to a limited number of POS before updating all clients.
Network Backup
4G router should be used only as a fail-over solution. Offline is reliant on that there is an IP address available for the POS to communicate to the associated devices. In case of a power failure to the access-point please be aware of the consequences for the POS in both online and offline scenarios.
Offline Capabilities
To secure sales, Sitoo POS can operate offline during interrupted connectivity. Some functions are not supported when the POS is offline, such as CRM, giftcards, online payments (e.g. Klarna), stock transactions (e.g. shipments, stocktaking, etc), bookings, validated returns, dashboard and find old orders/receipts.
A requirement for offline to work is that the local network is intact even when the connection to the WAN is broken. For specific markets, you also need to ensure exemptions from the requirement to have a CTU (control unit).
Finally, you should contact your acquirer to review the requirements and conditions for relevant markets for the card terminal to handle offline transactions for a limited period of time.
