Follow the instruction below on how to create a multiform (contact form) in Sitoo Web. Note that Sitoo Dynamics has to be installed before you can proceed.

A) Create an “OK”-page

This is the page that your visitors will be redirected to when the form has been sent. It is meant to confirm to the user that the message was sent successfully, or alternatively it can display a thank you message.

1. Right click on the page where you want to insert the multiform and choose "Add Page".

2. Name the page to something appropriate. For example "Thank you for your mail".

3. Edit the page and add the message you want the visitor to see when the form has been sent.

4. Save the page.

5. Right-click in the page that you just created in the content tree, and untick the box "Include in menus".

B) Create an Error-page

This is the page that your visitors will be redirected to when the form has not been sent. This may occur because of different reasons such as if an error occurred on the server.

1. Right click on the page where you want to insert the multiform and choose "Add Page".

2. Name the page accordingly. For example "The form could not be sent".

3. Edit the page and add the message you want the visitor to see when the form has not been sent (e.g. because of a technical problem).

4. Save the page.

5. Right-click the page that you just created in the content tree, and untick the box "Include in menus".

C) Insert the multiform

1. Edit the page where you want to insert the multiform.

2. Right-click where you want to place the form and go to "Insert" > "Object" > "Forms" > "Multi Form".

3. A predefined form will appear on the screen. Double-click on the object ”Multi Form” (marked with a blue border).

4. You will now enter "Properties for Multi Form" where you will see all the settings. Click on the magnifying glass in the first text field - "Multiform Description".

5. Adjust the information after your own preferences. Further down in this instruction you will find a reference list on how to organize the form. See example code here »

6. Click "OK".

7. Click on the magnifying glass next to "Email to".

8. Type in the email address where you want the form to be sent.

9. Now you need to choose where to go after the form has been sent. Click on the "Set..." button next to "Redirect OK".

10. Choose the page which you created in step A (The "Thank you for your mail" page).

11. Click on "Set..." under "Redirect Error".

12. Choose the page which you created in step B (The "The form could not be sent" page).

13. Save the page.

You have now successfully created a page which includes a multiform. Note that the page has to be published in order to work.

Styles are used in order to control the design on the multiform. You can create styles and edit them via "Tools" > "Edit Styles". You can choose which styles the form should use by going to "Properties for multiform" > "Text Styles".

The multiform is encoded in a way that every field in the form is assigned along with a title followed by the field’s code type

Brackets, (), will delimit the field’s code type
Exclamation point, !, will make the field mandatory, e.g. “Name (TEXT!)”
Double slash, //, works as a separator for fields with several options.
