Insert your own movie file

Do this to play a video directly in the browser on your website:

A) Start with importing your video file

  • Click "Tools" > "File Manager".
  • Place the video file in the "Website Root"-folder. This means to stay in the initial folder when the File Manager dialogue pops up.
  • Click "Add files..." and import your video file.

Note! The file name may only contain a-z, 0-9 and underscores. This means no characters such as å, ä, ö, spaces or similar.

  • Click "Close".

B) Insert the file in your document

  • Select the page on which you want to place the video.
  • Click the "Edit"-button.
  • Place the cursor on the spot where you want the video to be played.
  • Click "Objects" > "Miscellaneous" > "Code Relayer".
  • Double-click the blue frame "Code Relayer"  to see it's properties. Here, you have the option "Body Code". Paste this code:

Windows-formats (WMV, MPG, MPEG etc)

Macintosh/Apple (Quicktime)-formats (MOV, MP4 etc)

Note: Swap "filename.wmv" or "" (occurs in two places) with your filename.

Note: Change the width and height values (occurs in twoplaces each) to the values of your video.

  • Click "Save Page".

C) Schedule the file for upload

  • Right-click the project name at the top of the content tree and select "Add page".
  • Name the page, e.g. "Files", and select any layout.
  • Edit the just created page.
  • Type in a text, e.g. the filename.
  • Select the text and click the "Link"-icon.
  • Set "Link" to "Link to Resource".
  • Select the video file you want to make sure is uploaded when the site is published.
  • Click "OK" on all open dialogues and save the page.
  • Right-click the page in the content tree and uncheck "Include in menus".
  • Publish the website.

The video will now the played immediately when the visitor accesses the site.
